Green Chutney Ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh coriander or cilantro leaves
- 1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves
- 1-2 green chilies
- 1-inch piece of ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 2 tablespoons of tamarind water
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons of water
Instructions:
- Prepare the ingredients:
- Wash and dry the cilantro, coriander, and mint leaves.
- Roughly chop the ginger and green chilies.
- Keep them aside.
- Prepare the tamarind water
- Soak a small piece of tamarind in one cup of water for 10 minutes.
- squeeze and strain the tamarind to get tamarind water.
- Take about 1-2 tablespoons of tamarind water.
- Blend the chutney:
- In a blender, combine the cilantro, mint, green chilies, ginger, garlic, and cumin seeds.
- Blend or pulse for a few minutes until smooth.
- Add the lemon juice, tamarind water, and salt to taste.
- Start blending and adding the required water to reach your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning in the chutney.
- Blend until smooth.
