Indian Style Green Chutney

This recipe is simple and contains the goodness of fresh mint, coriander, gut cleanser ginger, and lemon. Green Chutney Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of fresh coriander or cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves
  • 1-2 green chilies
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of tamarind water
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons of water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the ingredients:
    • Wash and dry the cilantro, coriander, and mint leaves.
    • Roughly chop the ginger and green chilies.
    • Keep them aside.
  2. Prepare the tamarind water
    • Soak a small piece of tamarind in one cup of water for 10 minutes.
    • squeeze and strain the tamarind to get tamarind water.
    • Take about 1-2 tablespoons of tamarind water.
  3. Blend the chutney:
    • In a blender, combine the cilantro, mint, green chilies, ginger, garlic, and cumin seeds.
    • Blend or pulse for a few minutes until smooth.
    • Add the lemon juice, tamarind water, and salt to taste.
    • Start blending and adding the required water to reach your desired consistency.
    • Taste and adjust the seasoning in the chutney.
    • Blend until smooth.
  4. Serve or store:
    • Serve the chutney fresh with snacks like samosas and pakoras or as a spread for sandwiches.
